"Confidence comes from being prepared."
-John Wooden
Helping you prepare for your life changing boudoir portrait session is one of my favorite things to do. I've worked hard to create what I call, "Daphne's Perfect Planning" - when I tell you it's perfect, that's no lie. You will feel confident and you will feel prepared. But in addition to the perfect planning, what else advice am I offering to all my south Alabama boudoir clients? I've got plenty, but here's my top 7.
7 Tips I give to EVERY Boudoir Client.
1. Complete Daphne's Perfect Planning
My perfect planning will help you create 3 amazing outfits with 3 simple exercises. Don't neglect the planning. Choosing the right outfits will help you build the confidence you crave during your boudoir portrait session. I not only will offer help along the way but there are plenty of options to find places to shop and how to piece things you already own together for the perfect Boudoir Session.
2. Hydrate
Moisturize everything daily for at least 2 weeks. And drink plenty of water every day. THIS is the first time for many ladies that you will have so much of YOU photographed. Staying hydrated will help you look and feel your best.
3. Hands and Feet are EVERYTHING
Hands and feet play an important role in your Boudoir Portraits. Take time to ensure they look their best. You won't regret getting a mani pedi the week of your session. You will be photographed with your hand in your hair and your hands on your body. Your feet will be in photographs bare and with your heels. Taking care of your hands and your feet will give you the confidence to create all the boudoir poses you dream of.
4. Skin Treatment 411
Everyone wants their skin to look amazing for the BIG boudoir portrait session. But don't do anything without proper planning. And when in doubt take on your dermatologist for a partner. For best boudoir portrait results, give yourself 2-3 weeks between your procedure and your shoot. Use this handy rule for any skin treatment, from facials to lasers to injections. Not every procedure is a fast result and you want to give yourself time to heal from anything new.
5. Hair Removal
I recommend shaving the night before and waxing a few days prior. You want to allow your body to heal and any redness to go away before your session. Hairy areas can be distracting, and you know your body hair best. Pay attention to limbs, face, neck and bikini regions.
6. Eat before your session
Not eating will NOT make you look or feel thinner for your portrait session. You will be in the studio for at least 2 hours before your session starts. Don't be hangry Sister. You are going to be living your best life on shoot day!
7. Pack your car the night before
Far too often, ladies are sad because they forgot this or that. My best tip, is to make a list and pack your car the night before. It not only helps you to ensure you have everything you want or need. But it also helps you to make a smooth getaway. Many of our ladies are sneaking out to create something amazing for husbands and boyfriends and partners, don't let them see you leave with a suit case and spend the day wondering if you are coming back.
You will love spending time with me and my team at Hello Boudoir Portrait studio. The ladies come in as new clients and leave as great new friends. Everyone could use some new great friends. Learn more about the exciting confidence surging transformations our ladies enjoy by visiting the Transformation page and the Love Notes Page.
You will not regret it.
